苯的极性之所以比甲苯大是因为苯本身是非极性的,甲苯上的甲基使分子不对称,所以理论上极性应该大于苯分子,但极性指数是用硅胶柱色谱法测得的,苯分子由于自身很扁平,从而位阻效应较甲苯弱,在色谱柱上跑得比甲苯快,所以测得的极性更大。
